The Shanti Niketan Social Welfare Society (SNSWS) is a non-profitable, non-political, non-governmental voluntary organization of National level status, which started functioning in 2007, with its dream program, “Street to Home”.
Our services are for the abandoned and homeless victims of the society who are usually found on the streets. The focus is to get them to the Ashram and provide them personalised integral care. They may be unknown accident victims, abandoned by kith and kin, wandering due mental instability etc. They are usually picked by Ashram staff from street once spotted, mostly with infected wounds, decayed body parts, deranged mental status, critically ill with chronic diseases, at the verge of death etc. We also receive referral cases from Hospitals like Trauma Centre in Delhi or other govt hospitals after discharge as there is nobody to own them.
The SNSWS is registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (vide Reg. NO. S/ 60117/ 07) and accorded with the status of Charitable Organization by the Commissioner of Income Tax, under section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961, with tax exemption under Section 80G.

St. Joseph
Saint Joseph is a key figure in Christianity and is known as the earthly father of Jesus Christ and the husband of the Virgin Mary, Jesus’s mother.
St. Joseph is the foster father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He’s the patron saint of fathers. Joseph is also the protector of the Church. He’s one of the patrons of refugees, because he took Mary and Jesus, when Jesus was a baby, to safety in Egypt, to flee the wrath of the tyrannical King Herod. Joseph is also the patron saint of laborers, because he was a working man, a carpenter. He’s the patron saint of families and, here’s a beautiful one, he’s the patron saint of those who are dying, because, assuming he died before Jesus' public life, he died with Jesus and Mary close to him, the way we all would like to leave this earth.
“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Mathew 25:40)
Our mission is to provide sincere care for the people of India, who are abandoned on the streets and create a world of love and concern for them.
a) Provide Residential Care with Medical and Psychological support for abandoned people and restore their Human Dignity.
b) Rehabilitation of the destitute
c) Reunite the recovered with their family.
d) Extend the services to all the states of India.

The work that this organization does for the lost and the least of our society is indeed edifying and is not possible unless the members are empowered by the grace of God and imbued with a vision to bring about pure love and care, brotherhood and sisterhood, equality and justice in our society
Church of Immaculate Conception
It is indeed very encouraging and inspiring to learn that today more and more lay people are starting homes for the destitutes witnessing to the love of Jesus for the poorest of the poor. Shanti Niketan Social Welfare Society is a good example.
Archbishop of Gurgaon Diocese, Patron of SNSWS
As a patron of the Society, I had the opportunity to associate myself with this noble work for the last 9 years. The blessing of the society is it’s dedicated members under the leadership of its president, Mrs. Ancy Johnson, who gives her whole life in order to serve the abandoned brothers from the street.
